White Fused Alumina Powder for Ceramic membrane elements

White Fused Alumina (WFA) Powder, a high-performance abrasive and filler material, has become a critical component in manufacturing high-quality ceramic membrane elements—essential for industrial filtration and separation in water treatment, food processing, and pharmaceutical purification.
Crafted from premium alumina via high-temperature melting (over 2000°C), cooling, crushing, and precision grinding, WFA Powder boasts exceptional properties: Mohs hardness of 9 (second only to diamond), excellent chemical stability, and uniform particle size distribution (ranging from 0.1μm to 5μm). These traits make it indispensable in two key stages of ceramic membrane production.
In membrane substrate formation, WFA Powder acts as a core aggregate or filler, mixed with base materials like alumina and zirconia. Its consistent particle size optimizes the substrate’s pore structure, regulating pore size distribution to enhance both water flux and mechanical strength. Tests show adding 10%-20% WFA Powder (1-5μm grade) increases the substrate’s compressive strength by over 30% while preventing pore clogging, ensuring long-term filtration efficiency.
